The Ghanaian American Alternative Healers Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to healing and teaching the community. It was formed under the auspices of The Ghana Psychic and Traditional Healers Association, based in Accra, Ghana, West Africa. It was designed to educate the community and provide alternative healing to those in need.
Presently, our communities suffer from lack of knowledge. The healing will begin when we, as individuals, learn more about our culture. Then we can effectively begin to heal our families, our communities and, consequently, our nation.
The Ghanaian American Alternative Healers Association, Inc., offers classes in herbology and meditation. We believe that healing, in order to be effective, must take place in the mind as well as the body. We also offer classes in African dance, drum and language. We, the members of this association, envision ourselves as a beacon for the society at large. Our aim is to provide a multitude of services that will benefit everyone.
We will conduct workshops dealing with social and moral issues (domestic violence, drug abuse, child welfare) as well as nutrition, healthcare, reflexology, massage therapy and summer programs for the youth as well as the elderly. We have qualified individuals on staff to provide these services.
In the past few months, we have instituted a number of fundraising activities
open to the public. We aim at establishing ourselves in a permanent location in Brooklyn, where we can offer our services to the community at large. To achieve our goal, we are asking for your donations to assist us in the process.
